When every day brings a new absurdity, people become numb. This is psychological warfare, a form of terrorism meant to make resistance feel pointless. Calling it domestic terrorism is something no one wants to admit is happening from Musk’s White House, but it’s true. If fantasizing about invading an ally isn’t an emergency, what is? And corporate media’s role in all this is insanely dangerous because no matter how much people bitch and moan about the media they still cling to “the news” as the voice of reason.

NORMAL PEOPLE: He's a pyromaniac; take that lighter away from him!

THE PRESTIGE PRESS: Some of his allies, speaking on condition of anonymity, are concerned that his proposal to burn down the house might open the door to encouraging the perception that he lacks commitment to conventional safety measures. On the other hand...

If Canada had been part of the United States 10 years ago, Bernie Sanders would’ve just finished his second presidential term. And he might’ve had the balls to lock Trump up.

I have to admit my first reaction to this insane idea of Trump's was much like Peter Baker's postulating that this would make the possibilty of a Republican president ever occupying the White House impossible. Then on second thought, I went out and bought a big Canadian flag to hang in my front window and one to fly on my car.

Just saw a news story, "Trump to announce new bird flu plan."

Can anyone run the numbers on the electoral implications of 10 million more dead people? Peter?

Kinda mind-boggling how Baker is considering the electoral implications of annexing Canada without giving much, if any, thought to the moral implications. What's next: a play-by-play of how Trump could bring luxury amenities to Gaza? What are we even doing anymore?

We don't really have an unthinkable anymore within contemporary American politics.

Look, I can't know what to think about this "Anschluss" thing until Herr Baker runs the numbers on how things shake out in the Bundestag.

Stop Analyzing Trump's Ideas That He Campaigned On And Was Elected to Carry Out Like They're Crazy Policy Proposals

Ah yes, we all remember when Trump campaigned on annexing Canada. Frank will be providing us with a pre-Nov. 5 news link any minute now...

Look, when a President proposes to do a thing, you have to keep your mouth shut until they actually do the thing. I don't make the rules, it's just how our system works.

Yeah, if and when he makes an offer to buy and annex Canada, you will have a point. But until and unless then, as usual, you don't have one.

What does "Yeah" mean here? You're admitting he didn't campaign on this? So the turd you left in the punchbowl doesn't have anything to do with what Parker wrote? Gosh, what a surprise that is.

Even if he campaigned on this (he didn't) it still fucking crazy, frank. The fact that you've taken up personal residence on the root of one of the hairs on his ass doesn't change that fact.

But he hasn't made an "offer to purchase" yet! (LOL, with what? I thought we were broke? That's what they say whenever you want to give a kid a free school lunch.)

The troops haven't crossed the 49th parallel yet! STOP BEING HYSTERICAL!

Well you voted for a potted cabbage and then an un-elected talent-less DEI candidate popular with the emotionally disordered, so I don't think you have any demonstrated capability for knowing "crazy".

Sure I have! I didn't like said potted plant or the unelected "DEI hire" (which is what you call her because you're too much of a mealy-mouthed coward to use the racial slur you so wanna use.)

AND YET I was willing to vote for them over the crooked jack-o-lantern currently rotting away in the White House. Because I do in fact recognize crazy, such as trying to annex a couple of sovereign countries.

Too bad your faculties are so far gone that you can't do the same. Guess that what comes from being a caterpillar who will never quite become the beautiful butterfly.

Every piece like that makes the next authoritarian/lunatic proclamation seem more reasonable. This is the power our wealthy media class strenuously denies they have.

Notice, also, how presidential age-related mental decline is no longer a topic in America?
