The Present Age Weekly Recap: November 4, 2022
Welcome to the weekly recap. From me this week: lots of stuff!

I deleted Twitter from my phone about a week and a half ago. And while I still use it while at my computer, this has been a solid decision for me so far.
If you want to know why there’s so much media coverage dedicated to crime (no, the answer isn’t that crime is up), look no further than the “Foxtober” phenomenon.
Here’s a quick Halloween post I put together, featuring the music of Nick Lutsko.
Substack gave me access to its new “chat” feature on iOS the other day, and so far, I’m into it.
The other day, I asked why all the mainstream media outlets that freaked out about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeting that she was Googling how to make her own adobo after the Goya CEO praised Trump in 2020 didn’t seem all that interested in Sen. Tom Cotton (R-OK) threatening to punish GM for speech he didn’t like. The press seems to only care about “cancel culture” when it fits the “this is a left-wing phenomenon!” narrative.
And finally, I wrote about access journalism over at Dame Magazine this week. Check that out:

That’s it! Have a good weekend, everyone!
