Welcome to the weekly recap. In this post, I’ll be linking to my work from the week, sharing some stories from others I thought were interesting, and providing a few casual thoughts on [gestures at everything]. New from me this week:
The first edition of Matt Taibbi/Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files” was a dud, but right-wing media outlets are chugging along as though they just uncovered a new Watergate. Will their desperation play end up working? Maybe!
In a quick post for paid subscribers, I wrote a bit about some of the challenges facing the media industry as it enters what some are calling “a dark winter.”
And finally, the good people over at Some More News let me send out the transcript from one of their latest videos out in a newsletter. It’s a majorly detailed breakdown of the way mainstream media outlets can (often unwittingly) spread dangerous panics. It’s well worth a watch if you’ve got about an hour. You can find both the video and the transcript at the link:
Occasional plug:
Are you someone who books speaking events/panels/keynotes, etc.? FYI: I occasionally do those sorts of things. My booking info:
