The Nex Benedict tragedy has hit me especially hard, because they remind me SO MUCH of my own nonbinary teen, right down to their ages. These are just kids trying to live their lives, just like any other kid. Nex should still be here to play games and cuddle their cat and do all the things this sweet soul loved. I can't think about them without tearing up.

A few years ago my wife had a job offer that would have moved us to Texas, and our teen was just beginning to come out of the closet and explore their identity. A big reason why she turned it down is that we couldn't feel comfortable moving our kid to that environment, and I can't count the number of times since we have both thanked God we made that choice. Our kid is at least relatively safe and happy.

We need to do everything in our power to beat back these conservative bastards that are trying to ruin these already difficult lives. That means boring middle aged white men like me need to be more vocal and supportive. What happened to Nex is just evil, plain and simple, and there's a lot of people with their blood on their hands beyond just those bullies.

I have no words. My broken heart goes out to all the precious ones targeted by this malicious and willful ignorance—or ignorant and willful malice. 💔

No ignorance here. This is willful malice. The cruelty is the point with these monsters.

This is a really terrible story. The trans panic is having real impact on real people. The death of a child is a really terrible event and the girls who murdered Nex should be prosecuted for their actions.

I find it deeply ironic, not to mention sad, that the whole bathroom panic is about a trans person doing something illicit in a bathroom they aren't "supposed" to be in.

Of course, the only concrete story we have about a trans person in a bathroom has that person getting beaten and ultimately killed.

And of course, Nex was not trans, but non-binary, and was attacked in the bathroom allowed for those of their birth sex. But never let a fact or two stem the hate.

By now, Matt Walsh and Chaya Raichik know that when they post their hate-messages, death threats against the target are the result. And yet they keep churnin' it out. Seems fair to conclude they want people dead. If they didn't want people dead, they wouldn't keep doing what they're doing.

The story behind the story of the Christonazis' Resumed Holocaust is the expression of infinite Christian hatefulness that was (always) the clandestine definition and purpose of the former United States, never mind the efforts of martyrs like Abraham Lincoln, John Fitzgerald Kennedy and at least 655,000 Union Army soldiers. But a 77-million-vote majority of that irrefutably Failed State flung off all pretense of being anything but our patriarchy-infected planet's newest Auschwitz Nation. And I say this with the authority of one who survived five attacks intended to kill me -- (not) because I was Black, POC or LGBTQ, but because I was a "yankee" and a "yankee carpetbagger's son" living involuntarily in the Ku Klux South for most of the first quarter of my 85 years.

The first assault, in the playground of an exclusive Jacksonville, Fla., apartment complex shortly after the war effort brought us there from New York City in 1943, was by a trio of six-and-seven-year-olds; the spawn of Southron aristocrats, they tried to murder me because I "talked funny," holding me upside-down and burying my head in the playground's sandbox. In 1947, when I was a second grader at Jacksonville's Norwood Elementary School, a gang of Southron schoolmates tried to stone me to death for the same reason. As in the first incident, I was rescued by other "yankee" children, but the stoning, which knocked me unconscious, sent me briefly to the hospital and left me with lifelong facial scars. The other three assaults, in 1963 and 1964, were vengeance for my civil rights activism; I was saved from the first of these by a beloved German shepherd, Brunhilda, who was later poisoned in retaliation. I survived the second and third attacks by my own skill and the fact that by then I was legally armed.

Reading of the horrors of the Unified Reich voted into permanent power by the 77-million-member Malignant MAGAT Majority surprised me, not by the nation-defining sadism so revealed, but by how it resurrected memories of my own encounters with the Evil that is now this realm's avowed public purpose -- zero-tolerance Christonazi theocracy under the imaginary Führer they Zieg Heil as "God." The reading intensified my fear for LGBTQ relatives and friends; it also brought my anger back to full boil, leaving me frustrated that physical disability allows me no more opportunity to aid the Resistance than what I can do with a keyboard. But the post-JFK "Democratic" (sic) Party -- eternally compromised by 22 November 1963 -- will never again be more than the RepubliKlans' Fifth Column; nor will it ever truly enforce the values of the Declaration of Independence. Thus if we are to rid ourselves of rule by the high-tech Übermenschen, the Epstein Pervocracy, their Christonazi ideologues and their lynch-mob-minded MAGAT rabble, it will require both a new party and intervention from abroad. Till then we'll be savaged by the "Unified Reich" -- manifest ecogenocidal hatred and sadism scanning our planet for targets of opportunity.

THAT is why we need "Big Gubmint" coming in and steamrolling the bigoted local yokels, and SHOVING "woke" down Red States' throats until they choke on it! Things like this make me wish Reconstruction had never ended, and the South was STILL Occupied Territory....

See what happens when you don't play nice, Trumptard?

Like Trayvon Martin’s death - these bullies “felt threatened” by Nex and were “standing their ground.” The MAGA snowflakes strike again.
