It's not hard to use the letters CBS to develop a new acronym to describe the quality of their reporting. C could stand for colossal.

Didn't get the memo, Frank? CBS now double-plus good! We have ALWAYS been friends with CBS!

This is brilliant commentary, Parker. The CBS element is in certain ways the most pernicious of the whole thing. We the People are really going to need truth-telling in the coming maelstrom, and that CBS of all outlets is signed up to lie and muddy the waters for the Trump regime is bitterly ironic. Your piercing of that facade earned you a paid subscription from me. I hope more Americans begin to understand whom they can and cannot trust and direct their attention and support accordingly.

Unfortunately for Weiss, CBS's viewership (as is true of legacy broadcast television in general) is down, even more so when compared to ABC and NBC. It's also clear Weiss was installed to do exactly as analyzed in article: milk CBS for the last vestige of credibility from what was once a signature news network. I'm sure Weiss was all too happy to take that overpriced $150 million payday for her Free Press publication in return for overseeing the Newsmaxification of CBS, but their problem is going to be the ever-dwindling number of people who continue to trust Weiss's CBS. Of course, that is counterbalanced to at least some degree by the plausibility-washing of the Trump administration's new (and unsubstantiated) claim offered in response to the failure of their initial narrative in what was the state-murder of Good.

Back in my factory-worker days, anyone involved in any kind of accident was sent to a hospital for an immediate checkup, probably to forestall lawsuits for injuries claimed later. Once, a tank I was working in fell about a foot out the fixture that was holding it onto the floor. I was shaken up but unharmed, still I suppose I could claim I was "hospitalized."

In December, due to a lack of journalistic integrity which requires pusuit of comments from the administration being targeted in the hit piece, CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss halted a 60 Minutes segment about Venezuelan migrants with a criminal history being incarcerated in El Salvador’s harsh CECOT prison.

There, fixed it for ya'. You're welcome.

Lack of pursuit?? What were they supposed to do, issue a subpoena? Kidnap and waterboard Stephen Miller? But never let reality get in the way of a good snark.

Every comment of his starts with a lie, continues through several more lies, then finishes up with another lie.

Well the order from the new boss was that they could run it if they incorporated a response from the entity they were attacking. Any actual journalism would have already covered that.

Walter Cronkite must be rolling in his grave. Donald Trump and Bari Weiss being so chummy with one another is poetic, if a bit on the nose. They're both woefully unqualified for the job they've been given.
