One difference I think we underestimated was a shift from him being a content source for the online right wing content universe to being a competitor. Before, using Tucker as an example was a great springboard to a discussion, because his Fox show wasn't a direct competitor.

I don't think this gets enough attention, that what drives right-wing politics today is dozens of independent content-creators who are only out for themselves and are locked in a vicious competition with each other. The only way to rise above the din is to be even crazier and more outrageous than your competition, which is already PLENTY crazy and outrageous. And then Republican voters and the Republican party get pulled along, associating themselves with people and ideas that normal people find repulsive. But none of these content-creators really care whether Republicans are successful in elections, their business model works better when Democrats are in charge, since it's all about stoking fears that the Big, Evil Government is comin' for yer guns.

Right, but the right wing content creators and Fox have a symbiotic relationships - Fox leverages the content creators as cheap guests, the creators get their profile raised.

If you are a content creator who needs Fox to drive engagement and eyeballs, you're sure as hell not going to risk that just to go hang out with new competitor Tucker.

Exactly, but what gets left out of the equation is the interests of the Republican party itself. Because it's not good for the Republicans that their most prominent voices are people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Christopher Rufo, but the demands of an attention-based internet business model push these people to the top. And I suspect that Green and Rufo don't really care whether Republicans generally are successful as long as THEY are successful.

Watching Fucker Tarlson flush himself down the toilet is one of the few bright spots I've had lately.

If Parker wants to say that Trump is gonna win the election and then be TOTALLY WRONG about that, fine by me.
