I had the same thought about El-Sayed's response. Frame it as "the government shouldn't be making medical decisions for anyone," as many on the left, right, and in the center will get behind that line of thinking. This answer is perfect for any Dem asked about trans kids. However, I'd also like to see them push back on the whole surgery aspect of this too. What asshole (Watters) was saying is patently false, so the whole conversation starts from a faulty premise, which this (Fox) audience will no doubt believe, so say it's false. At least let them hear someone say the narrative is bullshit. Then follow up with parents right, government out of doctors offices, and all of the other good responses. But refuting the lie first would be helpful, especially when you go on a network like that where it's just a torrent of misinformation.

the supreme court gave permission for states to attack their citizens, but (as with abortion, so far) it didn't mandate that states take decision making power away from patients.
so why don't citizens of these states vote with their feet? many states stand up to this insane bullying; why not move to one of them?
it would be hard, unfair, giving in to tyranny,leaving a place that has felt like home ... but parents do hard things for their kids, and citizens do hard things to protect themselves from powerful aggressors.
if a consequence of a state acting this way is that their reasonable citizens leave (perhaps to be replaced by people more comfortable with tyrannical government overreach), then ... good, right?
