It is clear that the fears of a "wave of trans women" taking over women's sports are totally imaginary. According to a study, around 1.7% of NCAA athletes identified as transgender, nonbinary, or questioning their gender identity. But a) those aren't all trans women and b) non-binary or questioning gender identity don't really involve testosterone changes.

As a close relative of a young trans man (who doesn't give a shit about sports) and a more distant relative of several more, the use of this fear to stigmatize everyone who doesn't identify with their birth sex is scary in the extreme. It's going to be worse now. The only bright side is that he isn't likely to get pregnant and need an abortion. That and the fact that he lives in a really blue state.
