As someone who has moderated forums for almost 3 decades, decent people eventually give up on unmoderated or poorly moderated spaces. Every forum has the potential to devolve into 4chan or Stormfront if you're not willing to boot assholes.
And as forums get worse, they almost always start a culture of trolling external sites. It's not as fun trolling yourself, so you have to shit in someone else's bowl of cheerios to really have fun.
If there's an observation #5, it's that "Once my walls are fully smeared with my poo, yours are next."
Damn, borrowed observation #4 hits like a truck at the end! Also the Alt-Right Playbook is a fantastic series and I need to go back and re-watch it. I discovered it sometime mid-lockdowns and feel like I'd get even more out of a second viewing.
Thank you for sharing this. This is the first description of the modern right-wing that I've seen that is a better, more complete description than Sartre's anti-Semite.
Worth a share regardless of relevance but nice to see Innuendo Studios get a bump here. That series in particular is great at illustrating the perils of engaging with bad-faith actors in general.
Thank you. This is an excellent piece and I strongly prefer text over video.

I don't think it does what Sartre does, does it?
Wrapping up with Vonnegut was good. Mother Night was a tough read but so so good and sadly matches the times.

I really prefer text over video and this is brilliant.
