Thank you for this post, Noah. I can't even believe that this needed to be written but it does. The thesis that trans people are less stigmatized than cis gay people is so patently untrue that the argument could not possibly be made in good faith.

Only someone who's transphobic but has convinced themselves they aren't homophobic could believe there is some huge group of people in the states that *are* homophobic, but *not* transphobic

These pundits are treating signifiers of identity like "trans" as buzzwords. But this is not a popularity contest. This is a matter of who people are at the core of their being.
