Also, I remember the shock I felt as a child to see one of my teachers in the grocery store, to realize they are normal humans who eat just like the rest of us. Children are fragile and should be spared this horrible experience, I propose that we establish special hours when teachers may buy their groceries.
God (or someone like her) help us if the "America is a Christian Nation" folks get in power. Shall we ban Jews, Muslims, Hindus from teaching because it would soil the innocence of Christian children to discover that some people believe different things from what they are taught at home?
The thing that makes all of this so galling is the temerity of transphobes to couch their beliefs in professed concern for children. They're not pro-child. Their policies have demonstrated that time and again. All they are is anti-trans.
Nothing wrong with Greg Abbott or Ken Paxton that hanging them by their heels and having them beaten like piñatas by LGBTQIA+ and Hispanic people wouldn't cure.
