I have a dream that we can heal our divided country and bring people of all political persuasions together, united in our shared hatred of the New York Times.
Well I don't know if there is much that the average Democrat and average Republican can agree on with respect to the criticism of the NYT, but maybe I am wrong.
Democrats think they should do their Goddamn jobs better, conservatives joke that Tim McVeigh should have parked his Ryder rental truck in front of their building.
I subscribe to the NYT, WaPo, LA Times, WJS as my daily reads. I spend most time reading the WSJ. Don't watch any TV news. Read the Economist, Reason, WIne Spectator, Whiskey Spectator, Scientific American, Cooks Magazine and Cigar Aficionado. Then there is all my Substack articles to read that are both left and right leaning (although several lefty authors have canceled me due to the screams of their subscriber base to dare conflict with their coastal progressive ideology.
Also read a lot of left books.
It is the reason I am so damn confident nothing wrongness in debate... and noting who is in an ideological cult bubble. The NYT is in the ideological cult bubble and the Democrats are pissed that it did not satiate enough of their Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Here's an article from that site on how "left" and "right" media outlets covered the recent hurricanes. They acknowledge that "left" media was correct in linking increased severity of hurricanes to climate change, while the "right" media's reporting on this simply denies the scientific evidence.
My question: How is this an example of "left" and "right" media bias, rather than simply that some people report the science correctly and others don't?
When I saw the news (from Ben Collins on bsky) my first thought was about the justice for the Sandy Hook families. And then I started thinking about how this could be a really interesting opportunity, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they decide to do with it.
I read somewhere that the value of a mailing list is in inverse proportion to the intelligence of the people on it. So Alex Jones' list should be worth a FORTUNE.
An end to InfoWars is undoubtedly a win. The point about The Onion having to (again) show leadership under these circumstances is well taken, though. For a bit of a weird example, I think back to Domino's Pizza's campaign of filling potholes as a publicity stunt. When fast food chains are addressing our crumbling infrastructure, that's clever marketing, but it's also vaguely dystopian. A satirical news website shouldn't need to fill the potholes of disinformation on the media landscape.
More accurate news coming from The Onion and The Babylon Bee than the NYT these days.

The New York Post I see... https://www.allsides.com/news-source/new-york-post
Find a national newspaper that leans right. Even the WSJ is centered. https://www.allsides.com/news-source/wall-street-journal-media-bias
Well, there's always Stormfront, maybe that's more to your liking.

Yeah. Not left biased enough... https://www.allsides.com/news-source/new-york-times-opinion-media-bias

No, there is no increase in severity of hurricanes. And lying about that and lying again that it is related to climate change... is left cult biased.

They'll have the mailing list, what would you do with a list of a few million of the stupidest and craziest people on the planet?

That's a great comparison! How do we change this trajectory?!
They should put you in charge of it Parker!
Now do it with Joe Rogan’s empire.
